So, I'm still having this issue even after switching the apps off. I
left my phone on but didn't use it for about four hours and it lost 20
percent of its battery. It's only about three months old.

One thought, do you take mail out of the app switcher when you are
not using it?
If not, try that for a day and check the usage again.
