I, too, was having no luck getting from the book sample I started reading back
to the main menu. However, I just finally discovered the Library item as a
flick down action from that menu button, though, so I’m getting somewhere! I
have also been wondering if I accidentally attached my Kindle to the .com
rather than the .ca. If so, how do I fix that and how do I figure it out?

Subject: Re: Question about the iphone kindle app

Hello Melissa. The Kindle app approaches things somewhat differently than
iBOOKs. It can throw beginners off. Fortunately, it's quite consistent and
simple. If you're in a book, double-tap to reach what I've come to call the
internal book menu. You'll find a number of options which help you change the
view or use X ray if a book supports that. Once you find the options, flick
left and you'll find a menu button. Double-tap that and the larger main menu
will appear. The very first option on is is library which gets you to your list
of books. The Kndle approach overall is to minimise space taken by interface
lelements and maximise space for the book to be displayed. Very helpful for
sighted readers but a source of minor irritation for those of us without sight.

Another nifty set of options is exposed by double-tapping and holding after the
second tap. You can highlight words and do other things like share passages of
text and define words. In the library, you'll find options to switch from books
in the cloud to those on your device as well as sorting options if you look in
the bottom right corner. Hope that helps you navigate a bit easier. It's a
wonderful app once you get used to it and you can save a pile of money taking
advantage of Kindle book deals. I hate to see people get discouraged from
something I've gained so much pleasure from. Happy reading.

Sometimes I can get the menus; to work after opening a book, sometimes I can't.
And occasionally, I can't find where to tap to go back to list of books in the
cloud list. Any ideas?
