I did suggest his, but the 4 uses a Micro SIM and I think maria has an iPhone 6 
as her main phone which uses a Nano SIM. She would have to find an adapter and 
buy it and while I am sure it is not an expensive item it is still something 
she would have to find and buy. Trying to find somebody who has a phone with a 
Micro SIM and to use it might be easier.

I'm generally surprised no one has thought of this. put the sim in from your 
other  phone till you set it up, once on the home screen of the 4, switch the 
cards back.
