Apple has changed the key assignments for the Focus products in iOS6. The best thing to do until an FSCast comes out on this, is to press K-cord to invoke keyboard help, then press the keys to understand what they now do.
People can of course offer feedback to Apple on the new assignments, but to say it's unusable is I think a bit of a stretch. It's just different. Some people will find it better, others not, but it is still very much useable. Here's a summary that may assist. Router Row Double tap the selected item. Status Router Row Toggle expanded status description. Left Nav Rocker/Whiz-wheel Up Move to previous item using rotor setting. Left Nav Rocker/Whiz wheel Down Move to next item using rotor setting. Left Mode Button/press whiz wheel Select item under your finger. Right Nav Rocker/whiz wheel Up Move to previous item. Right Nav Rocker/whiz wheel Down Move to next item. Right Mode Button/press whiz wheel Select item under your finger. Left Panning Pan braille to the left. Right Panning Pan braille to the right. Left Selector Activates a Back button if present. Right Selector Start/Stop Toggle Left Rocker Up Scroll up one page. Left Rocker Down Scroll down one page. Right Rocker Up Scroll left one page. Right Rocker Down Scroll right one page. Hi, I don't like the new key assignments for the Focus 40 Blue in iOS6 either. I have the Classic, and I don't like having to use the Whiz Wheels to pan by line, because the rocker bars now swipe instead. VoiceOver jumps all over the place when I try to navigate using Whiz Wheels on my iPhone 4. If I move up or down one click, VoiceOver focus will jump back and forth over a span of four or five lines, and after a few seconds, may eventually land where it is supposed to. Although I can appreciate the thought and hard work that went into this update, the unintended consequences, for me at least, are that Braille is virtually unuseable on my phone. At the very least, it's not practical. So, I plan to downgrade back to iOS5.1.1, if I can figure out where to get it.
