I am literally unable to move up and down by line and have to pan left and right by display width to navigate. When I need to scroll through something quickly, this is not a practical way to do it. So, for me, it really is unusable. I'm not flying off the handle, I'm not being irrational; I'm not even afraid of something new. It really, truly doesn't work for me because of the way VoiceOver behaves. The best thing to do until an FSCast comes out on this, is to press K-cord to invoke keyboard help, then press the keys to understand what they now do. People can of course offer feedback to Apple on the new assignments, but to say it's unusable is I think a bit of a stretch. It's just different. I have the Classic, and I don't like having to use the Whiz Wheels to pan by line, because the rocker bars now swipe instead. VoiceOver jumps all over the place when I try to navigate using Whiz Wheels on my iPhone 4. If I move up or down one click, VoiceOver focus will jump back and forth over a span of four or five lines, and after a few seconds, may eventually land where it is supposed to. Although I can appreciate the thought and hard work that went into this update, the unintended consequences, for me at least, are that Braille is virtually unuseable on my phone. At the very least, it's not practical. So, I plan to downgrade back to iOS5.1.1, if I can figure out where to get it.
