Clifton, Did you ever think about pulling your iPhone out of your pocket and start a video recording? It produces unquestioned documentation. Fortunately, the airline accepted your version of events and took corrective action. It could have easily lied and said you walked off the plane because you were hungry and your ticket was refunded in goodwill. United Airlines has lied about two incidents but video showed the airline was wrong.
Today, I was walking down a busy commercial street in my neighborhood here in Chicago. I ran into a ladder that a business propped against the side of its building. Fortunately, just my shoulder and arm grazed the ladder, and I was not injured. There was no barrier to prevent pedestrians from walking into the ladder by accident. I pulled out my iPhone and took a couple of pictures to document for the city to take enforcement action.
