I’m surprised to see so much attention devoted towards the more expressive Siri voices. I view it as a nice touch to the presnetaiton layer, but the structure and interaction, specifically with understanding, context, and meaningful intelligence has a lot to be desired. The only advantage Siri has is that it was first, but all other voice-based assistants are smarter, helpful, and useful. However, to be fair, even the best of the “Assistants” today would not last as a human Assistant in a job. We’ve been promised a bright future with the voice user interfaces, but a lot more resources and time needs to be realized before the “Year Million” is our reality.
