Critical Vulnerability in Apple iPhone
I am not sure what the game is, but this message is a bunch of BS and should
simply be ignored. I was waiting for a link or
something which is why I wonder what whoever wrote this is after. Simply the
fact that the so-called “Belkin Manager of Global IT
Security” is supposed to have written this is a big red flag. It sounds
awefully impressive, but I wonder if such a title even
exists.
Every iOS update includes security patches so of course you should update, but
if there was a really serious issue with versions of
iOS 10 prior to 10.3.3 it would have been all over the news.

I don’t know if any of you have seen this, but thought it might be worth
sharing.

Critical Vulnerability in Apple iPhone

My company never sends these alerts out, but they felt it very urgent for this
one so I thought I would pass it on
Mike Herzog
Critical Vulnerability: URGENT APPLE IOS VERSION UPDATE REQUIRED:
A CRITICAL VULNERABILITY has been identified in the operating system (IOS)
version for Apple iPhones (5 or later), IPads (4th Gen or
Later), and IPOD Touch (6th Gen or Later) devices. This flaw will allow an
attacker to gain access to the phone through the Wi-Fi
chip, resulting in gaining access to the entire phone. Due to this
vulnerability, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that users with the
devices in question to the latest IOS version (10.3.3) at your earliest
opportunity.
Process to upgrade:
1. Within your IOS device, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
2. Tap either Download and Install or Install Now, whichever displays.
Interim measure:
If you are unable to update your software, immediately, you can disable your
wireless adapter to prevent the attack, described
above, from happening.
How to Disable Wireless Adapter:
1. Within your IOS device, go to Settings -> Wi-Fi.
2. Click on the slider to the right of Wi-Fi to disable Wi-Fi (the color
will change from green to gray)
