I just finished an article in Dialogue magazine about an app called Envision Eli for iOS and Android. The app is free and the user purchases 100 QR labels for $20 to record personal label tags. Sounds much like a phone based version of the Pen Friend. I'm curious if anyone has tried this? I recall totally wanting a Pen Friend when I first heard about it years ago, but was staved off by the cost. This app sounds like a great option, but I'm kind of curious to hear if anyone else has tried it or thinks something different is a better options.
As a follow on question, I'm trying to think how I would use it. It seems I've heard of other apps that can read bar codes now, so I would imagine reserving these QR labels for things that either don't have bar codes on them or for which I want to include a longer message - say cooking instructions.
