Metal can cause a short and it is always better to use non conductive
materials. There are definitely times when a sighted person is better able to
do something and that is not putting down what a blind person can do. But
sighted people can, well, I guess "see" so they can much more easily clean out
a tiny port like this because they can see exactly where any lint or dirt may
have accumulated. Anyways, I would strill blow it out with a can of compressed
air, I'm sure if you stop by at any electronics store and ask if somebody could
maybe take a look and blow a blast of compressed air into that port they'll do
iut.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Re: can wireless charging help with iphone 6

Hi Sieghard. Why not metal? I tried a tooth brush, it did not work. I tried a q
tip, it did not work. I tried a tooth pick, it did not work.
I have a metal pin which I use to remove sim card off my iphone if ever
required. I scraped the inside with that metal pin, what the heck I had given
up on the phone. Lo and behold, it is charging now. I may have damaged my
speaker in the process but the speaker is working even though it does not sound
that great. I may have to use a Bluetooth headphone set or 3.5 pin jack for
wired headphones.
As I said the phone is charging and now I should think of the ways to avoid
such situation again.
Thank you all who responded.
Oh yes. I have an apple store in 30 minutes driving distance and I could also
find iphone repair stores in the neighborhood but I did not have a ride or
patience to use them. How did we live before iphones?
