problem is, that I need to remove some from the actual iTunes library on the PC, not from the phone. also, how do I add new ones that I have got on the PC now, if I can't get at the tones library on iTune?

Simon, It is true that apps and ringtones have disappeared from the library section, but once you go to your device section the treeview which has “Summary” at the top is still there and here you still have your tones which you can sync or remove from your device etc. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of goshawk on horseback Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2017 6:10 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: iTunes 12.7 - things missing? Importance: High ringtones are the point, as I tend to make my own, rather than fork out for them. in previous iTunes versions, when I opened them, it would go strait to my tones library. in this latest iTunes, I can't seem to get access to, or even find my tones library at all, so can't find a way of adding any new ones I have maid, and like I think I mentioned, I was going to tidy it up a bit, as it currently contains a number of items which are either too long for the iPhone, or which even though they are mentioned in the library, there are not actually files for. if I can't get access to that library however, I can't tidy it up, which is why this latest iTunes is being such a pane! Hi Simon, You can completely uninstall iTunes 12.7 and find a download for an older version or, depending on when you installed it, you could restore your computer to a restore point from before the update. However, Sadam is correct, if you have updated to iOS 11 it might be too late as I am not sure if they will work with previous iTunes versions. Here is a statement from an article about iTunes 12.7, I made this into a link so if you click on it the article will load: Additionally, iTunes 12.7 adds support for iOS 11 devices as well as new Apple Music features like social sharing. Having said all that, what exactly is it you miss in iTunes 12.7? I agree with Sadam in that iTunes is playing less and less of an important roll for iOS devices and as far as I am concerned that is a good thing. I still think iTunes will be around for a long time since it does serve a certain purpose both on the Mac and on PC’s, but when I did an encrypted backup before the update I noticed that the last time I did an iTunes backup which is probably also the last time I hooked my phone up to the computer was last March. For the most part I only connect my phone if I want to put a new ringtone I made onto the phone and I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple came up with a way to add ringtones maybe via iCloud Library and the Files app in the future hence further reducing the need for the iPhone to get connected.
