Andrew,

In Settings/Notifications/Do Not Disturb, you will find all of the customisable 
settings relating to DND.

regarding your calendar issue, it is possible in list view to scroll up a year 
or more, so, you may find that the dates are all from 2011. I would suggest 
flicking down using the three finger gesture a good few times and seeing if you 
can get to 2012.
