I assume they reduced the time from 20 seconds to 6 or 8 or 10 so the auto answer kicks in before the voice mail. I guess the only other option is to increase the number of rings until voice mail picks up, depending on the carrier there might be a command which allows you to do this or you might be able to call and ask your carrier if they can adjust it.
