Widgets are simply providing information on the Today screen and you
can customize them, you can add things like notifications, calendar, my Netatmo
Weather Station has a widget which shows a quick summary of temperatures,
humidity of all modules, my bank app has a widget where you can enable a
so-called quick balance view from in the app, if you do then you can quickly
see your account balances on the Today screen, there is a Now Playing widget,
one for battery and so on. You can just go to the Today screen and explore
them, play around with them you can always change it again if you don’t like
what you are showing or not showing.

I'll try that, but I solved the issue by finding and adding the
widget. I had never worked with widgets before, so I didn't understand at first
what Robert and Larry were talking about. While i was at it, i added several
widgets for apps that I use frequently. Widgets are a very powerful tool, kind
of like icons on a PC's desktop.
