That's how you sent voice messages in What's App. I guess the only alternative would be to record with another app which saves the file as an MP3, then you would attach this file and send it via What's App as an attachment, but That of course may defeat the purpose. There is no way to change anything in What's App to do what you want, it's meant to be easy and quick, you push/hold to talk, as soon as you let go the message is sent and that is that. Once the message is sent you can listen to it, I guess if you didn't like the way it sounded you could send another, but you can't first review as you can with iMessages.
