Hi Sandra, I assume you mis-typed and meant to say that you hold the "voice message" button WhatsApp to record your voice message?
In addition to this method, you can start your message recording by tapping and holding the voice message button, then yo use your other hand to turn off voice over with the triple click on the home button and then turn it back on. After you turn off voice over you are free to remove your finger from the voice message button, and WhatsApp will continue recording ... it will record the speech of voice over as you restart it (most people are ok with this), and then you just double tap the voice message button when you want the recording to stop.
