Hey, They are not that hard to take on/off. It just becomes a little bit tedious after awhile. I had a little zipper case from my old head-phones that I used for several years. I kept them in the pouch and the AirPods in the outer shell. I found with the ear hooks that I have, if you slide the ear hook over the bottom extension it was much quicker and easier to put them on. Rather than trying to put them on over the fat part of the AirPod that goes into the ear.
I mostly have given up on using them by now. I have found that the AirPods don’t even come close to falling out of my ears.
