Same as Audible, it's owned by Amazon and you have to buy a book via your web browser on the PC or via Safari on your iPhone, but as soon as you bought it (with your Amazon Id of course) it is associated with that and since you use the same Amazon Id to log in to your Audible (and Kindl) apps the book is automatically visible there and available to download. I never even use this button/control on the website to send my Audible books anywhere, they just show up. Maybe it's different with Kindl, but I'd just try it, buy the book and then open the Kindl app and see if the book is there. In Audible you can also browse books and add them to your wishlist, but then you just have to go online and complete the purchase for the reason Mary described.

Then once you have found it, you will see on the page where you have the book information, that if you have more than one place where you might read your Kindle book, you will get to pick from among the various devices that you might have.
