I also don't know why you as a single person has such issues. I have had
iPhones since 2010 and started with an iPod Touch in 2009 and while I have had
phones replaced by Apple for various reasons here and there, I have never had a
swollen battery. One thing is for sure, during the first year and, if you buy
Apple Care Plus, for 2 years, Apple's customer service is next to none.
Having said all that I would simply try an Android phone and see for yourself.
I am sure the platform and accessibility has come a long way and many visually
and blind users love their Android phones. But as was pointed out, don't
necessarily expect anything better and make sure you find out when you get a
device what exactly its warranty is.

Sieghard

Try a basic iOs, like the S.E, which is still plenty really. Not sure why your
phones go like that, though batteries are funny things and had that expanding
issue on a Milestone bat device. I thought it was one thing apple could fix,
all be it at a price.

I keep trying android, and that keeps trying,... my patience, so still with
apples so far.

If you are uK, there are re-sale lists that are forever offering used, less
used, and not quite used model iOs phones for sub-normal price, so limiting the
investment/outlay.

Subject: IOS vs Android

I know "android" is supposed to be a naughty word, but I need some
honest feedback.

I have been an IPhone user for about the last 6 years. However every
year or two my phone dies. I have had two phones where the battery
actually expanded and pushed the glass off the front of the phone, and
now my battery is not holding a charge for more than an hour or two.

I used an android phone back in the day when they didn't come with
touch screens, and I haven't tried on with the touch screen yet.

What I have been reading is that android accessibility is not as
mature as that of IOS, and if that is the case I would stick with
IPhone, but I am tired of exploding phones :)

I am not a social media kind of guy, and would use the phone for
making and receiving phone calls sending and receiving texts
navigating using maps while walking of apps like nearby explorer.

Any feedback is welcome. I do realize this list will be pro ios by
its nature, but any alternate views would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Don
