Hello Alvin, On my 4S with iOS 6 this is also the case. If I type something it does not get written into the search box, however, if I tap Dictate whatever I say is properly inserted. I guess it's something to report for sure since maybe this could crop up in other apps, but if this is the only place where it happens I'd call it a minor possible slightly annoying bug.
