Since Blind Square does not do turn-by-turn directions, this is a bit of comparing Apples to Oranges. Blind Square is designed as an orientation app, that can be used together with apps for turn-by-turn directions. So, if you are going to compare Blind Square with something like Nearby Explorer, it would be better to compare Blind Square plus Google Maps with Nearby, etc. There are so many differences between one person's needs and another's, that I will never say one app is the best. it truly depends on what someone needs/wanss and then find the app or apps that meet those needs. Some people will say that Seeing Eye GPS is the best, though very expensive. And so on. I wish all GPS apps had a free, 30 day trial. Just My opinion, Richard

However, I've been hearing a lot about Nearby Explorer from APH and am wondering whether it is superior and if so why. I can't cough up the $70+ it is priced at now, but perhaps it will go on sale at some point. The big problem with pretty much all of the GPS apps I've used has nothing to do with the apps themselves. When I am in an outside environment, often the voices are very difficult to hear if it gets loud.
