Try going into Voice Dream Settings, Manage my voices, selecting Samantha, then flick once to the more info button and double tap. In there, you can set it as your preferred voice, you can adjust the default speed and other things as well as type in sample text to test the voice. I just tested Samantha on my phone and she sounded the same as when I am using VoiceOver.
I normally use Tom Enhanced for VoiceOver and Amy from Ivona for books, because I like the British accent. I went to manage voices yesterday and I have Samantha selected. Samantha on my phone is selected as the default. I never found an option to set the voice I preferred to the iOS voice and the voice currently selected in book share is Samantha. They are as different as Night and day however! It's enough to make me not read the books until I get this sorted out.
