I have always had the keypad show up when I make a call while VoiceOver is on. This is on an iPhone 6S and on both an iPhone SE and 5S. I don't know if there is a setting involved, but I will do some checking.
This works if I use my favorites, ask Siri to call, or select the number from contacts. If you don't want it to go to speaker you have to use a headset, you can't press any keys while you hold it up to your ear since the touch screen is disabled while the phone is up against your ear. If the keypad doesn't show up check the options on the screen, one of them will be to show the keypad. I finally switched my Sim card from my flip phone to my iPhone a week ago, so am trying to get used to the phone aspect. More times than not, I have to access the keypad on my phone when a call has gone through in order to choose an option from a menu, or enter information. I like choosing from my Favorites list and use this option to make calls. If I do this, the keypad doesn't show. After the call goes through, touching, tapping, or swiping the screen doesn't seem to do much--VO doesn't say anything, so I can't find the Keypad option in a timely manner. What are my options?
