Hi Sieghard, During my bout with trying to get rid of 2 factor authenication I learned a great deal more about it than I knew before my upgrade fiasco. Well like I said in my post prior to this one, I don't keep anything on my phone of any importance, so the pin code / 2 factor authenication is just not a useful tool for either my wife or myself. Anyways, understanding how much people do share between devices like you & so many others I can understand the necessity of this type of protection. Jewel, I have two-factor authentication enabled and that does not require me to type in any email address or long passwords and my trusted devices which I use all the time behave just as always. However, if there is an attempt to access my account from a new device then even if somebody had my password they could not gain access because they would also need to have my iPhone which would have to be unlocked for them to see the access code. My iPhone is secured with Touch Id and of course there is a 6-digit passcode for when I have to reboot my phone or for when for whatever reason the fingerprint doesn’t work which is rare. I am out and about too much for my phone to not be secured and if I do want somebody else to do something on my phone I simply unlock it and then hand it to them. For me not locking my phone would be not very different from leaving my house unlocked when I’m not at home. Given the amount of hacking and not very nice people gaining access to all sorts of accounts means security is important and while two-factor authentication is not perfect it is currently one of the more secure methods of protecting your accounts of course alongside a strong password. When I open my iPhone, I want to have immediate access to whatever I opened it for, not have to mess around for 5 minutes: exaggerating a tad, but I am sure that you know what I mean: typing in a long email address and then an, equally, complicated password.
