Kelby,

It sounds as if you've got the correct setting for streaming new episodes when
played. If the episodes are still being downloaded, I could not find a setting
that would prevent this. I assume you've got your delete played episodes
setting set to when completed so that they don't linger on your device taking
up space. My opinion is that based on the language used in these various
settings, an automatic download that can't be changed must occur.

I found an excellent article reviewing Overcast and comparing it with a few
other podcast apps here:

https://thesweetsetup.com/apps/our-favorite-podcast-client-for-ios/

It did mention the ability of Overcast to stream but didn't say anything about
your issue of preventing any episode downloads.

Subject: Overcast: Streaming or Downloading?

All,

In Overcast, I have new episodes set to stream. However, when I click on a new
episode it still ends up downloading while it is playing. (So, for instance, if
I go offline I can still listen to it.) I want the episodes to stream without
actually downloading to my phone. Is this possible?
