Yes, it does have on board internal storage capacity. There is a switch with 2 
settings. If you have it to the left then the BI 14 runs its own internal notes 
application, allowing you to make as many notes whenever and wherever you like. 
You can then also ask the Brailliant to sync these notes to your I-device and 
vice versa. If you flick the switch to the right then it just becomes a Braille 
display/keyboard for your I-device. You can’t attach anything like a memory 
stick to the Brailliant in order to provide external storage, but that’s not 
the point of the machine - the point of it is to be able to make notes really 
easily on the go without having to carry a lot of large equipment around with 
you.
