Yes, to all of that, Gordon, and the Joeys do have the accessibility. The
joey's work just like the hopper except that the hopper has the harddrive in
it. When you have the hopper of which there's an app for that called sling.
Remember if you get dish you want the most recent hopper which is hopper 3
which comes with the sling which has an app. Since we don't have the hopper
we never tried it. We're hoping to try it soon. As far as talking with
someone knowledgible about the accessibility at these companies including at
dish it's hard to find someone like that. With that in mind my boy friend
has been talking with dish about the accessibility for a long time. Since
we've had the issues I mentioned with the receivers, there are people in a
special department that he's in touch with now. Whatever we answer you will
be accurate.

So if I had the hopper in my room and the Joeies in the other rooms,
would that work? Would those other boxes be able to record to the dvr
and access those recordings on the other tvs? And does the app for
managing the dvr work well with the iPhone?

Only the Hoppers have accessibility. The Joeys don't.

I don’t know the answer to that as I only have 1 TV .. I did connect that
to a stereo in another room via bluetooth .. At the time the Joey’s didn’t
have speech ... not sure if that has changed ...
Sad thing is that all of these companies only do the bare necessity to
meet the laws. It frustrates me that all the settings aren’t accessible
.. and that second TVs also aren’t. It’s not just Dish .. DirectTV was
the same when I last looked ...

Ok so I have four tvs that I would want service on. So would I need the
hopper connected to my tv in my room or will the speech be available on
all boxes in the house?

Both the Hopper 2 and 3 have there Text to Speech interface and most of
the normal day to day things are accessible ... it’s when you try to do
some of the setup and more advanced things that it’s not accessible.
But, watching TV ... looking at the guide ... working with recordings ..
they all work pretty good.

If anyone goes with dish network, here's what you need to know. The
following receivers have software problems. The wally is the worst. It
does have accessibility. This receiver doesn't work with audio
description. It is in the receiver, but dish has not been able to fix
it so it will work. If you buy the xm package you'll have lots of
ramdom dropouts of audio lasting any where from 10 to 30 seconds. They
are ramdom, but they will sure mess up your favorite songs. The next
receiver is the 211, it doesn't have accessibility but on the xm
channels you'll get ramdom dropouts lasting from 1/2 to 1 second. The
hoppers have accessibility but we don't have anything to report about
these receivers, though we might know something soon. If anyone else
knows more about the hopper receivers, let us know about them. We've
been with dish for 21 years, and we're hoping they will resolve the
issues with the receivers. The price does sound good.

So after not getting a deal that I could be happy with from At&t
yesterday I've decided to look at other options. I'm considering
Spectrum for internet and Dish for TV depending on what you guys say
about it since they have some really good deals. I hear that they now
having talking boxes, so I was wondering if anyone here has any
experiences with those. but just as important, how accessible is the
IOS app to interact with the equipment? Can you manage and schedule
recordings from your phone? I can get 290 channels from dish for $104
and At&t wants $137 for the exact same thing. And I'm only able to get
45 down on my internet which about 20 of that is reserved for TV. And
with my daughter and everyone who lives here, 24 down isn't enough.
