Can you tell me, please, how you import the MP3's into Downcast and also confirm that they keep their place if stopped partway through?

Hello,
I have not used the apple podcatcher. The thing I like about downcast is
that I can import mp3s into it, and it treats the imported files as a
podcast. This functionality is useful to me because Minnesota's agency for
the blind has a radio reading service whose daisy books are recorded using
mp3 files for the audio component. I can bring the mp3 files into downcast,
which saves me having to buy a separate app for reading daisy books.

Subject: Downcast vs iOS Podcast Client

All,

There has been some discussion of late as to which is better, Downcast or
the default iOS Podcast client from Apple.

This is preloaded by way of comment with the fact that I've not used
Downcast myself, but, those I trust to offer opinion have not yet offered me something, other than UI comment, that makes me think one is better than the other. So, this message serves to inform those who on the other side of the
fence, may not yet have used Podcast from Apple.

Features:

Fully automate and configure download parameters for individual podcasts,

choose what is downloaded,

choose what is kept, e.g. all, unplayed, last x etc.

playback speed, half, normal, 1.5x, 2x and 3x

adjust display mode, newest at top or oldest at top

choose playback order, newest first or oldest first, separate command from
above

full Apple iTunes selection of podcasts an information.

download over 3G or WiFi only.

Oh, fully Voice Over usable and by the way, podcasts can be played /
controlled with Siri, which is not a feature of Downcast.

I think that covers it all, I'm still awaiting something that Downcast can
do over this feature set, please do not mention the 5x speed option, surely
no-one listens at that speed?

Am I seriously missing something, or not?

Many thanks.
