Apps didn't stay in their folders for me on a previous version, think 5.1 or 5, but they certainly did this time around.
Go figure, as you say over in the States! I also wasn't able to use a backup to restore because when I got through I must have gone ahead and synced and I only had one backup which was the one after the upgrade; I haven't yet taken the time to explore whether there's an option somewhere to have only one backup vs. multiple ones but this is what happened to me. I never had the problem with my apps coming out of folders on any other upgrade. But I haven't heard of anybody else who had this problem so I don't know why that happened to me. Also, you can back up to either iCloud or your computer and I still feel more comfortable both doing my upgrade through iTunes and backing up to my computer. That's a matter of personal preference but I just wanted people to know iCloud hasn't become the only option. Your decision might depend on several factors, including whether you are running Windows or Mac OS or even have a computer. -- Cheryl May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. You should back up the device through iCloud anyway just in case you need to restore the device later, because of a corruption for example. I am about to update to iOS six, but before I do, when I update, will my apps stay the same as they are on their respective screens now? Or am I going to have to do something before updating, to make them stay where and how they are? I have my calendar and contacts backed up through iCloud, and when I went to turn on iCloud backup, it said if I turn it on, that when plugged in to my computer, my phone will no longer sync automatically with iTunes I guess as it does now. So should I turn it on before I update? Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks, Shane. Sent from my iPhone -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
