Hi Richard,

I thought that might be it. Thank you very much though for taking the time to
find out I do appreciate it.

I guess now we will have to wait till the next upgrade.

regards,

  Hi,

I've duplicated this problem. As it stands right now, you cannot use any
custom ringtones with specific contacts.
You can use all of the defaults, but if you have a custom ringtone, no matter
the length, it will not save with a contact.
I have custom ringtones from 5 seconds to 30 and none of them hold with a
contact under iOS 6.

But, if I change from dog barking to the doorbell, whatever I have changed to
holds. So, say I picked doorbell. It works fine.

If I then edit that contact, select a custom ringtone, save it, it will
revert back to the doorbell.

  This is certainly a bug.

  Richard

After you set the rign tone and tap "save" and then "done" for editing the
contact, does the default ringtone show up as the ringtone when you look at the
contact or does the one show that you picked. Also when you pick the ring, do
you hear that ring sound? Then when that person calls you and it goes back to
default, what shows in the contact information as the ring?

          Hi List,

I wonder if anyone can help. I want to assign a certain ringtone to
a person, but every time I select it and save, no matter what I do, it reverts
back to the default setting, I have even tried deleting the contact and putting
it in again as a new contact then selecting the rington I want for that person
but then it just goes back to the default setting. can anyone help? or have a
clue what I need to do?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.
