Then why didn't that person just pull the tab do open the velcro, sounds like one of those stories to me. The motor which pumps up the cuff is operated by I think 2 or 4 triple A batteries, I highly doubt they can generate enough pressure to cause severe bruising unless that person was maybe taking major blood thinners.
