If they don't want to receive text messages during the night just tell them to 
turn on Do Not Disturb, I'm sure Android phones have such a feature.

I’ve seen this happen sometimes too, especially with Android phones. Maybe 
their model of phone is slower at receiving texts, or TMobile may have spent 
some time sending the message.
