Melissa, open the keyboard and put it flat on a desk top. There are two ways to tell top from bottom. On the bottom row are two space bar keys; there are two keys instead of the traditional one long one because that's where the keyboard folds. On the left side you'll feel a vertical round kind of thing; that's where batteries are. More about those later. Towards the bottom of the keyboard, just a bit to the right of the batteries is a slide switch that clicks left and right. Sliding it to the left turns the keyboard on. Slightly above that switch is a small hole that would fit a stylus. This is the button you use for pairing.
