I like the fact that if you sync with DropBox, it uses .docx format, though it is still just plain text and does not maintain Word formatting, it makes it easier to import into Word. You have to be aware that the only formatting it will keep is bold headings, bulleted lists, outlines and pictures. If you have a tab in a Word document and open it in NoteMaster, it will strip out the tab, which he is looking into replacing the tab with spaces, but that is not there yet.
I like the interface and the fact that you can password your categories, which is what he calls folders. He listens to feedback and makes changes where he can. It just works for me. Both have a free lite version with limited functionality, but you can see if you like the way they are laid out and spend some time figuring them out before buying the full version. Both developers are trying to be helpful with making changes to help with VoiceOver access. My top choice is NoteMaster, but others prefer Pages, Meteor Notes, and more.
