Hi tim, I would try two things. Clean the right AirPod with a damp cloth. Maybe some wax got into it and is blocking the sound.
Also, make sure your phone's balance didn't somehow get changed. Go to Settings/General/Accessibility. In the Hearing section, there is a Left/Right Stereo Balance control. Make sure it's set for 50% left, 50% right. I hope that helps.
