There is really a big learning curve to no home button! Hang in there. Many times I wanted to trade my X. Practice, practice and more practice. Two things to remember:
1. Go to very bottom of the screen to find the haptic, and I mean the very bottom. Now, there are three different pressures for your finger. The lightest touch is where you get haptics to open. The second touch is 3D touch which is a little harder. Of course using that touch you need to focus on an icon like messages before you can use it. So you run your finger lightly along the bottom until you feel a jump or hear it or both. I had to turn my finger 90 degrees to the screen to find. When you get the feedback you gently and lightly push up with your finger until you feel the jump again or hear it or both. That opens the screen. From the top you can do the same thing and get notifications and one more jump gives control center. Warning: I may have this backward, but the motion is same. Now too automatic until I get the wrong one! LOL. It is just such a light touch. After a while your muscle memory will remember. 2. Now when you have the motion down, remember it shortens your screen when doing something on the phone. Many times I have closed off apps or gone back to home by getting down too far on the screen. No problem, but takes practice also. Other frustration for me was face ID. Again, practice is what is needed. I had to learn what level to hold my phone for it to recognize. I have never seen a camera so looking at it is foreign. I always listened to voices when I was in a pic. Apple has made it easier for us to not need attention to the screen, but it still is not an easy thing to get used to, at least for me. Hope this helps in some small way. Reggie and Lex God said, "I need somebody strong enough to pull sleds and find bombs, yet gentle enough to love babies and lead the blind. Somebody who will spend all day on a couch with a resting head and supportive eyes to lift the spirits of a broken heart." So God made a dog. I'm really struggling with it on the 10 r. In my eyes, i am doing everything as advertised, swiping up, holding my finger on the screen. The phone just keeps going click click click click click click click, click click click. It's very much hit or miss. I'd say out of 12 times i try and unlock the phone i may get it once. I've never struggled with something like this this bad. What is the secret? -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
