Yes, it is definitely not for reading. But even the time was problematic because the dots retracted when touched, or I should say some would. And htis was the experience of others as well so it wasn't that mine was defective. My husband really wanted one and was willing to put up with a lot for it, but even he ultimately gave the notion up for the time being. I agree that I didn't want one either but there has been definite interest so I hope they get it right.
