I leave location services on all the time and it does not drain my battery.
Having that on and having a GPS app on are two different things.
How often do you charge the phone? I charge mine every night just to make
sure it is good all day and it is recommended to never let the battery drop
below 20% if possible.

Not long ago, my battery went way down overnight; it did the same last
night. I can't figure out why. Battery says I have normal usage, and that
the battery is still operating from
100 percent, which, of course, I knew.
