I have a new phone on order, and need to figure out how to transfer
everything to it when it arrives. I haven't been using iCloud, because I
would rather access everything directly on my phone. However, there are
some files in iCloud that landed there before I turned it off.

I'd like to access those files, so I can delete them before transferring
everything from my current phone to the cloud so I can transfer it to my new
phone.

Here's the problem. I have no idea how to access iCloud since I haven't
been using it. Can someone please give me some directions as to how to do
that?

Thanks.
