I have found if I opt for the more expensive option of Uber ex then the driver comes right to where I am.
In fact I had a driver of the less costly Uber pool who didn't want to drive me because he felt like he would have to drop me right at my destination rather than at the corner of the street. I'm not sure what's going on with Uber, but it seems more problematic than it used to be.
