If you were choosing Uber pool then you must uncheck the box stating that you are willing to walk a distance.
If all I have left in this world is God, I have everything! Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Kathy Brandt Sent: Tuesday, June 4, 2019 7:41 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Uber adding “near” in pick-up address This has happened with three trips now. In my last, it looked like the pick up address would be just the address, but then when it came time to confirm the pick up address, it gave the street number, then saying near the actual place I was at. I felt compelled to text The driver to say that I was actually at where I was, along with saying my usual about that I am blind, etc. One of them told me that this is in preparation for when they do driverless cars, when most likely people will go to meet the car somewhere. When I wrote Uber about this, they said in effect to do what I am doing, right and say exactly where I am. I tend to like writing rather than calling, because if I am in a public place with an audience, and get someone who doesn’t know English that well and who might not be familiar with someone saying they are blind, I just don’t want to get into a protracted situation trying to explain it. Is this how you all are dealing with this regarding the pick up address wording, or has it been your experience that they will, without your prompting, come directly to your address? -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
