There's more options, Mark, for more than we've seen before, for example
changing your password, changing your security questions and other options
but nothing directly about updating the card. In this is where we're going
in circles well, not finding the option to edit and update the card. You
could manage your account with this area, but nothingn about updating the
card, and I would hate to go into any of these such as the shipping
information to have other things getting tangled as far as straightening
this out. I really appreciate knowing about this page for other details
having to do with the account. Maybe you could tell me what we could go into
updating the card if there's anything to do that. thank you so much for this
web address.

Hello Arlene,
Okay, I know exactly what you are experiencing.
So, recently Apple updated its terms of service. For whatever reason, for
some accounts, this results in a kind of payment management glitch for some
users.
In instances where your current credit card data is dimmed-out, on the iOS
device, it is necessary to sign into your account via a web browser in order
to update your payment info. This is the only way, according to the Apple
senior account advisors with whom I've discussed this matter.
The good news is that you wil only have to do this once; after which you can
update your credit card info, as usual, on your various Apple devices.
So, to get started, go to:
http://appleid.com.
After signing into your account, go to Manage Payments.
From there, you can update your credit card info. After doing this, you
will find that you can now update and change your payment info on your iOS
device, just as you would expect.
Good Luck,
Mark

Subject: updating credit card question
I copied instructions from here on the list about updating a crdit card. We
started to purchase an app, and what complicated it was that we should have
updated the card first. We're going in circles in attempting to update the
3 digit code which stays in there. The other thing that needs changing is
the experation date, and it's dimmed where you should be able to change it.
So it's as if we're going in circles. Thanks for help with this.
Arlene,
