All a sighted person has to do to turn off screen curtain is to ask SIRI to turn off Voiceover, once Voiceover is off there is no more screen curtain.

On Monday I'm contacting apple to see about getting it returned and most of my money back. With apple care and the cost of my phone, I spent almost $1000.
