Gosh Mark, your message makes me curious to know if the improved volume and sound quality would apply to recordings made with the iphone 5 as well as the call quality. I wonder about this because I tend to be a bit softspoken and on my 4S, I could never get my recordings to be loud enough, no matter which recording app I tried. I too am on the fence about whether or not to upgrade, but if I could make better recordings with the 5 than I can currently with the 4S, that might be at least one more selling point.
