Holly, continue with that personality, that's part of what keeps you going,. and anyone else for that matter. For anyone here that's in their 20's, 30's, 40's, hearing some of our ages, might sound so much older to you, and I could understand that. This is getting a bit off topic from this list, but those of us now that are in our 60's to 80's, in the 1980's and 90's when people started getting computers depending on the decade 80's or 90's we were from our 20's to 40's depending on our age. So being in the computer and using it, of course we were open to cell phones and even more so smart phones, especially the iphones. So that's why it's not unusual for people in their 60's to 80's and even older to be into the iphone, ipad and computer. Then there's someone like my stepmother's brother-in-law, George, that if he's still alive he would be 87. very knowledgible about the computer, and helped my parents set up my first computer in 1997. At that time he probably had been into the computer since the early 80's. So that's why I don't think age has anything to do with who's going to be into using iphone or ipad or flip phone or anything else, it's just personal individual preference what devices one uses in their daily lives. I wouldn't be surprised if George is still with us I wouldn't be surprised if he has an iphone. I read an article about 5 years ago, about a man that was in his early 80's and he bought his mother that was about 104 years old a tablet and she really loved using it. If now this was 20 or 30 years ago, and considering people in their 80's and 90's thinking how they couldn't handle certain devices compared to certain other devices that would be thought as easier for people in that age group, but these days it's different since many members grew up with the technology, and those of us that are older have ben into it as well for the last 20 to 30 something years. It would have been so wonderful if my dad had lived to see the access the iphone has given to us. He would be 92 if he was till here. Anyway, sorry for getting rather off topic, but no, it's not unusual these days to be older in age having an iphone or ipad.

Arleen:

Thanks for your note. I am 75 and didn't learn the computer til I was 62, but it was the best thing I ever did, as I have a degenerative retinal disease and knew I would gradually lose most of my vision.

Luckily, we have a wonderful non-profit in our area, so was able to take computer lessons free of charge. From what I am seeing on this list, not too many people are as fortunate to have such great access to help.

Yes, it can be frustrating at times, but I have a tenacious personality, so hate giving up on things.

Take care.

Holly

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.
