hi, what is the point of tabs then if you can have only one open at a time? i thought it was like having several sessions of word open with different documents open so i could have one tab for Google etc and another tab for listening to a program for example from a website. at the moment i start listening to some thing on a website which maybe 1.5 hours long, half way through i might need to look at some thing else but if i move away from that website i lose my place in the recording and this recording is so annoying in that you can only move forward by 30 seconds at a time. so is there no way i can have 2 sites open in safari at the same time?

You can only have one open at a time, but you can have hundreds of tabs available. You should be able to close them by double tapping and holding, and when you hear the tone, you will have a choice to close it. Or, if you want a clean start, double tap and hold on the tab button in the lower right, and after the tones you should find a close all button.
