In my humble opinion, this is a pretty low service fee for what they do. If I
lived alone I'd totally sign up for it. Who knew there were such things!

Instacart does not have a membership fee.

And would you expect to get all of this done for you for free?
I think it's pretty amazing that for $99 a year you get this service and
delivery for free for a $35 or more order. Even $7 is a pretty low delivery
fee, how much would it cost you to take a cab to the store to get $20 or $25
worth of product?
I fortunately live in a small town where I get a similar service provided by
our local grocery stores for free, they know who I am and if I call Safeway
and say "Hey, it's Sieghard, I'd like to pick up a few items on my way home"
the answer usually is "OK, Sieghard, hang on for a sec so I can get a piece
of paper and a pen". It so happens that I walk right by Safeway on my way
home from my store, it takes me about 8 minutes to walk from my store to
Safeway and another 10 from there home. If I call a few minutes before I
leave and give them 15 or 20 minutes my order is usually waiting for me at
the customer service counter by the time I get there. If I am at home and
have a larger shop I want to do where maybe a friend can pick it up for me
or where I send a cab they'll also charge it to my credit card and for $11
our local taxi company goes there and picks it up for me.
Of course most people may not live in a place where they get such service
and in those cases a service like Shipt is amazing.
I still think an otherwise able-bodied blind person should go out from time
to time to interact with others, not only is there a social aspect to this,
but after all one cannot sit around at home all day doing nothing and
exercise is important.

Regards,
Sieghard

This is mentioned in the article below. When I looked into this issue, I
found most of these services do charge membership fees, either monthly or
annually. What are the totally accessible shopping services that don't
charge any monthly or annual fees? Here's one article I found talking about
the annual or monthly fees charged by these services
