For the contacts whose number is showing but not their name, you may need to edit their phone number is in the right format. If their phone number does not include the international code what’sapp won’t be able to read them as the correct contact. You can definitely save your local contacts without the international code and The phone will still allow you to call them. But not so with WhatsApp
