Hi Fazil,

Setting up as a new phone means you are not restoring a backup. Usually setting
up as a new phone is a good idea if you are having serious issues with your
phone where say it’s really badly draining the battery and nothing else helps.
You would simply go into Settings > General > Reset and select to Erase all
content and Settings. You will have to first turn off Find my iPhone before
you can do this.
After the phone reboots you can triple press the home button and just as when
you receive a new phone, Voiceover will come on and you can complete the rest
of the setup process.
At some point during that process it will ask if you want to restore from
iCloud or iTunes or if you want to set up as a new phone.
If you select to set up as a new phone you eventually get to your home screen
and you then have to re-download any apps you want and set them up, e.g.
WhatsApp, set up email, download any voices you want and all that.
You also have to arrange your apps the way you want, create folders and so on.
It’s a lot of work, may I ask why you want to do this?

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: setting up iPhone8 As New Phone?

Hi, list.
I want to set up iPhone8 as a new phone.
If I do that, can the phone get the data that I backup via iTune?
Should I (I don’t know how to ask this,) I mean I have to format the phone
before restoring it as a new phone?
Thanks!
Thanks!
