First, are you looking at the cloud, or what is on your device. Select device, then double tap on the delete button, then a new delete from Device button will appear before the name of the books on your device. Double tap the one before the title you want to delete, and then repeat that move since it needs confirmation. If the book you delete is the last one on your device you will get a message to tap on the cloud to see other books. HTH,
